A woman drowned in Harveston Lake in Temecula Sunday.
Firefighters received a report of an adult, woman unconscious and unresponsive, at 6:24 a.m. at the southeast end of the lake. Trucks were rushed to her, near the intersection of Harveston Drive and Village Road, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. Her name was not released at first.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the incident.
Harveston Lake is a manmade community water area inside a housing tract development.
