An overturned kayak found east of Catalina Island Wednesday prompted a U.S. Coast Guard search for a possible missing person.
The yellow 13-foot kayak was found about 5:20 p.m. about six miles east of Long Point, according to the Coast Guard.
The kayak is a Perception Sport model, as indicated by lettering on its side, officials said.
Crews were searching on the water and from the air.
No reports of anyone missing have been received, according to the Coast Guard.
