A 20-year-old reputed gang member accused in the fatal beating of a father of two last month in Koreatown was being held Friday in lieu of $2.12 million bail.

Jairo Mendoza was arrested on Wednesday, according to sheriff’s inmate records.

The victim, 27-year-old Bryan Hernandez, was attacked by several gang members around 7 p.m. Aug. 30 in the area of Eighth Street and Normandie Avenue, according to police.

Hernandez was dropped off by friends at his family’s home after being attacked, then taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he was later declared brain dead, his sister Yesenia Hernandez told ABC7.

Hernandez was in the neighborhood to visit his young children, she said.
