A man possibly driving drunk led deputies on a chase in a pickup truck Friday in the Compton and Lynwood areas before surrendering, authorities said.
The chase began about 8:40 a.m. in the Compton area, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies tried to pull the truck over, but it kept going along surface streets in the same general neighborhood, followed by patrol vehicles and monitored by sheriff’s personnel in a helicopter.
About 9:10 a.m., the truck went onto the grounds of a business near Imperial Highway and California Avenue in Lynwood, and the man got out of the vehicle and was taken into custody.
