A Rancho Palos Verdes man was arrested Monday on suspicion of trying to kidnap a 13-year-old girl, sheriff’s officials said.
The attempted abduction occurred Monday morning at a location near a school in that city, and the campus was locked down temporarily while the suspect was sought in the neighborhood, according to a deputy at the Lomita sheriff’s station.
The man, in his 50s, will be booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, the deputy said. His name was not immediately released.
