The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announced Friday a 2026-27 season featuring theater, dance, music, opera, jazz and family programming.
The season opens Sept. 25 with the Joshua Redman Quartet and continues through June 2027.
“The Wallis’ 2026/2027 season reflects our commitment to being a leading multidisciplinary performing arts center on the West Coast, rooted in Los Angeles and connected to the broader national and international arts community,” Executive Director and CEO Jean Davidson said in a statement.
Among the theatrical highlights are “Nobody Cares,” a one-woman comedy show by Tony Award winner Laura Benanti, scheduled for Oct. 1-4; “Travesty,” a new solo work by drag artist Sasha Velour, Oct. 29-30; and “The Shot,” a one-woman play starring Sharon Lawrence as Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham, April 10-25.
The Wallis will also present “The Old Man and the Sea,” a musical-theater adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s novella created in collaboration with LA Opera, May 20-23.
Returning Wallis favorites include comedian Sandra Bernhard on Dec. 5, composer and performer Jason Robert Brown on Dec. 12, pianist and actor Hershey Felder in “The Piano & Me” from March 11-21, and fashion designer and cabaret performer Isaac Mizrahi on April 17.
Dance offerings will include RONALD K BROWN/EVIDENCE, Oct. 8-10; CONTRA-TIEMPO, Dec. 17-19; “Passing the Crown: Celebrating the Queens of Hip Hop,” Jan. 29; Los Angeles Ballet, Feb. 4-6; and GALLIM, April 1-3.
Music programming will feature Cuban singer Daymé Arocena’s Alkemi on Sept. 26, Spanish flamenco group Las Migas on Nov. 12, the Naghash Ensemble on Nov. 18 and The String Queens on Dec. 11.
Additional music performances include the Scott Dunn Orchestra’s “The Eighties” on Oct. 17 and “By George! The British Are Coming” on April 24, MUSE/IQUE’s “From Aaron Copland to Paul Simon: Our Musical Pursuit of Happiness” Oct. 22-25, and Pacific Jazz Orchestra featuring vocalist and pianist Kandace Springs on Feb. 9.
The Wallis will again host concerts by the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra under Music Director Jaime MartÃn throughout the season, beginning Sept. 27, and a series of recitals presented in collaboration with LA Opera featuring Jamie Barton on Nov. 15, Erin Morley and Lawrence Brownlee on April 22, and Sondra Radvanovsky on May 22.
Family programming will include “Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About a Terrible Monster,” based on the books by Mo Willems, Nov. 20-21, and Lightwire Theatre’s “The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Generation,” Feb. 20. The center also will continue its free Family Fest celebrations, including Dia de Los Muertos on Nov. 1, Lunar New Year on Jan. 23, Nowruz on March 20 and Pride on June 12.
The Wallis opened in Beverly Hills in 2013 and presents a year-round schedule of theater, music, dance, film and educational programming.
