Detectives arrested a suspect Friday in connection with the Thursday murder of a man in Rosemead.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrested Zhongqiang Meng, 27, of Rosemead, for allegedly shooting the victim in his driveway in the 8000 block of Emerson Place. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has only been identified as a Hispanic male.
Investigators identified Meng as the shooter and took him into custody Friday morning after Meng turned himself in to officers at the Monterey Park Police Department, according to the sheriff’s department. Meng was transported to the sheriff’s Temple Station where he was booked for murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
