A woman was killed in a suicide leap early Tuesday morning when she jumped from an upper floor of The Standard hotel, a “hip” facility in downtown Los Angeles.

Officers responded to a call about a jumper around 1:15 a.m. at 550 S. Flower St., according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Station.

The woman, who police said jumped from one of the upper floors, died at the scene.

Her death was being investigated as a suicide, police said. No other injuries were reported.

There was no word of her identity, nor did authorities provide a possible motive for the suicide.

The Standard, according to its website, has 207 rooms in a “mid-century” modern building originally constructed as the headquarters of the Superior Oil company.

It wasn’t clear if the woman may have jumped from the area around a rooftop pool and bar that has “stunning panoramic view of LA.”
