Two men shot on a street in unincorporated Westmont both suffered at least one gunshot wound to the upper body and one died at the scene, authorities said Wednesday.

The man who died was Tyshawn Starling, 19, said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. The city where Starling lived was not known.

The shooting was reported about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of West 110th Street, one block west of Vermont Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Boese.

The victim who survived was taken to a hospital where he is listed in serious condition, Boese said.

Information about suspects or motive was not available.
