Fire Sunday damaged a two-story medical office building in East Hollywood.
Firefighters were dispatched at 10:52 a.m. to 1200 N. Vermont Ave. and reported seeing heavy smoke on both floors. The smoke was from flames coming from one room on the first floor, said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters had the blaze out within 14 minutes of their arrival, Bastman said. No injuries were reported.
Numerous fire trucks blocked Vermont Avenue, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. Service on the Metro Red Line, in a subway tunnel deep beneath, was apparently not affected.
