An alleged knock-knock burglary crew of four suspected gang members who were arrested in Temple City was being investigated Friday for possible involvement in other burglaries.

As deputies were responding about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a suspicious Jeep in the 9000 block of Olive Street, they were notified of a burglary alarm activation on the same street, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Michael Maher.

The deputies saw the Jeep leaving the area and attempted to pull it over, Maher said.

The Jeep stopped a short distance away and four men ran from the SUV, prompting deputies to cordon off the area, Maher said.

It was later learned that a home on Olive Street had been burglarized of jewelry, electronics and other items — all worth about $10,000. The items were recovered from the Jeep, Maher said.

The four suspects were eventually arrested within the containment area.

Booked on suspicion of residential burglary were Eric Harris, 19, of Gardena; Daryl Jones, 35, of Los Angeles; Trayveon Taplin, 24, of Los Angeles; and Faizon Donnie, 21, of Los Angeles, Maher said.

They are facing charges of residential burglary, resisting arrest and gang-related enhancements that could bring stiffer sentences and are being held on bail amounts ranging from $115,000 to $120,000, Maher said.

Investigators said they believe the suspects may be responsible for several other residential burglaries along the Foothill (210) Freeway corridor and the San Gabriel Valley and Foothill areas, Maher said.
