A car-theft suspect was arrested in Hawthorne at the end of a 90-minute-long police perimeter search, authorities said Monday.
The perimeter was established about 2:15 p.m. Sunday after the suspect bailed out of a car reported to have been stolen and fled from the area of 122nd Street and Menlo Avenue, Hawthorne police Lt. A. Yoshida said.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident about 3:45 p.m., she said. No injuries were reported.
Streets in the area were closed to traffic during the perimeter search, police said.
