A probation check led to the arrest of a woman and her brother after guns and drugs were found at a home in Glendale, police reported Wednesday.
Officers went to the home in the 300 block of Chester Street about 8:45 a.m. on May 24 to see if 31-year-old Selin Charmaholi was in compliance with her probation, according to Glendale police Sgt. Dan Suttles, who said the woman had been convicted of narcotics sales.
“Selin’s probation conditions prohibit her from possessing or accessing firearms,” the sergeant said.
Officers confirmed she lived at the address, but she was not home, Suttles said.
“The team conducted a search of the residence and located five handguns, three assault-style rifles, six other style rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition,” Suttles said. “Six AR 15 lower mechanisms were also located inside the residence.”
Officers also located nunchucks, high-capacity magazines and a small amount of cocaine, Suttles said.
“Selin’s brother, 34-year-old Sergey Charmaholi, was found to be responsible for the cocaine that was located in the residence,” Suttles alleged.
Both were arrested on suspicion of weapons and narcotics violations, according to Suttles, who said Selin Charmaholi remains in custody on a no-bail probation hold, while her brother was released after posting bail.
