A traffic stop in Pomona ended with an ex-felon arrested on gun charges, authorities announced Saturday.
Undercover officers patrolling the area of Second Street and White Avenue at 11 p.m. Friday attempted to pull over a black Lexus for a license plate violation, but the driver didn’t immediately yield, according to Sgt. M. Lange with the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force.
Officers then noticed a firearm being thrown out the vehicle’s right rear window, Lange said.
A short time later, the vehicle pulled over and the occupants were detained, he said.
Officers identified Jesse Aldrete, 19, of Adelanto, as the passenger who tossed the firearm out of the car and placed him under arrest, Lange said.
Aldrete was booked at the Pomona City Jail.
