Detectives from the sheriff’s Temple Station will be handing out fliers Wednesday to residents in the South Los Angeles and Rosemead areas as they search for an 11-year-old girl who ran away from a group home in the San Gabriel Valley.

Italy Ann Johnson was last seen about 11:10 a.m. Sunday leaving the residence in the 7600 block of Graves Avenue in Rosemead.

“Italy … did not have a cellphone when she was last seen,” according to a sheriff’s statement. “Her family is very concerned.”

Authorities believe Italy might return to South Los Angeles, the area where her family lives and she has been known to frequent.

Detectives will also be asking residents with security cameras to check for any clues to the girl’s whereabouts.

Italy is white, 4 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 85 pounds, and has hazel eyes and long brown hair, according to the sheriff’s department. She was wearing a gray sweater, a white top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts was asked to call the sheriff’s Temple Station at (626) 285-7171 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
