A 28-year-old woman was killed Monday when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a Panorama City street, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 2:43 a.m. in the 8200 block of Burnet Avenue, Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said.
The vehicle was northbound and the driver stopped, called 911 and remained at the scene, Eisenman said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports from the scene indicated the woman may have been searching for her dog on the dark road with no crosswalks and that speed and DUI were not factors.
