The Riverside County coroner’s office Monday released the name of the woman killed Monday when an SUV rolled over on Highway 86 about 20 miles south of Indio injuring four other people.
Vita Lopez, 56, was a Thermal resident.
The crash happened about 2:15 p.m., north of Avenue 85 near the unincorporated community of Oasis, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Dodge Durango was traveling on the north side of the four-lane highway and ended in the center median after it overturned, the CHP said.
The victim now identified as Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, and four others suffered minor injuries in the single-vehicle crash, Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The number one lanes on the northbound and southbound side of the highway were shut down while emergency crews worked on the patients.
