A man was injured Monday when he was struck by a vehicle on a street in unincorporated West Carson, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 3 a.m. at 223rd Street and Vermont Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.
Witnesses said a dark green vehicle struck the man and that the woman driving screamed for help and took off, the CHP said.
The victim was seen trying to crawl off the road onto a sidewalk, the CHP said.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Imy McBride said.
