Four people were arrested and about 165 pounds of marijuana were seized Wednesday at two dispensaries in Pasadena that police allege were operated illegally.
The arrests were made when investigators served search warrants at 1460 and 1470 East Walnut Street, according to Pasadena police Lt. Javier Aguilar.
Arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale were 44-year-old Jose Cano of Huntington Park, 20-year-old Vanessa Munoz of Monrovia, 22-year-old Jocelyn Munoz of Pasadena and 20-year-old Monica Sandoval of Pasadena, Aguilar said.
It was not immediately clear if Vanessa and Jocelyn Munoz are related.
All four were released on their signed promises to appear in court, Aguilar said.
In addition to marijuana, investigators also seized $5,000 in cash and other evidence, Aguilar said.
Dispensaries are not permitted in Pasadena, but the city is moving forward under a measure passed by city voters setting forth regulations for the sale and cultivation of marijuana.
City staff will provide information from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Pasadena Convention Center regarding “the upcoming process for issuing cannabis licenses for retail, cultivation and testing operations,” Aguilar said.
