A 31-year-old La Habra man is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of posing as a federal agent as well as trying to kidnap and sexually assault a woman in Fullerton.

Camran Abbas Mohammed was charged Dec. 6 with single counts of assault with intent to commit a sex offense and kidnapping to commit a sex offense and two counts of forgery of public or corporate seals, all felonies.

Mohammed was arrested by La Habra police in February for allegedly possessing a forged identification for a law enforcement agent, said Michelle Van Der Linden, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Mohammed was still under investigation on that case when he allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman in her mid-20s at a courtyard at Fullerton High School about 2 a.m. on Sept. 29, she said.

Mohammed is accused of trying to force her into his vehicle, but she managed to get away and called police, Van Der Linden said.

A backpack found Feb. 3 at Imperial Middle School in La Habra allegedly contained the fake badge as well as a stun gun, handcuffs and the defendant’s driver’s license, according to prosecutors.

When police executed a search warrant of Mohammed’s home they seized replica handguns, pepper spray, stun guns, ropes, zip ties and tactical gear, prosecutors said.

Mohammed is not accused of flashing the fake badge during the alleged assault on the woman, but investigators suspect he may have used it in the past and asked for anyone with information relevant to the investigation to call investigator Brad Tanner at (714) 834-3424.

Mohammed, who was arrested Dec. 7, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the courtroom of the Central Jail in Santa Ana.

Mohammed faces seven years to life in prison if convicted at trial.
