Police searched Saturday for a 71-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing in Santa Ana.

Melvin Davis, who is need of medication and is said to be in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease, was last seen on Wednesday at his home in the 3400 block of South Ramona Drive, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Davis is black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, police said. He was believed to be wearing a burgundy t-shirt and tan carpenter pants and possibly driving a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with the California license plate 7J66927.

Anyone with information regarding Davis’ whereabouts was urged to call Santa Ana police at (714) 245-8665.
