The coroner’s office Monday released the name of a Long Beach man who died at a hospital after he was struck by a car while crossing a street in a crosswalk.
Amroel Allen was 63 years old, coroner’s Investigator Kelli Blanchard said.
Allen was struck about 8:45 p.m. Feb. 18 at Burnett Street and Pacific Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
The motorist stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police, but was not arrested or cited, police said.
“Detectives do not believe the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” according to a LBPD statement.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at (562) 570-7110, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
