A man and woman from La Mirada were in custody Tuesday after being arrested in connection with a series of purse snatch robberies in and around San Gabriel.
David Nicolas Davido, 30, and Erica Tiger Adams, 29, were arrested on Friday, shortly after they had allegedly committed a robbery in Monterey Park, according to San Gabriel Police Department Sgt. Ray Lara.
“San Gabriel detectives, in a collaborative effort with Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Taskforce and neighboring law enforcement agencies, were able to determine that several other purse snatch robberies were connected to the aforementioned pair,” Lara said.
“The investigation eventually led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of several purses and additional property believed to belong to victims of previous robberies.”
Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying other possible victims of the suspects.
“Preliminary information suggests that the duo targeted Asian females in shopping plazas frequented by the Asian community,” Lara said.
Both Davido and Adams were booked on suspicion of robbery. Davido was being held in lieu of $70,000 bail and Adams in lieu of $100,000, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
Anyone with information about the suspects or who believe they were victimized by them was urged to call San Gabriel police Detective Eric Britt at (626) 382-0248.
