Two burglary suspects are in custody and police in Garden Grove say they have recovered a blowtorch from the pair that was used to burrow into a second business Saturday, after making their way initially into a beauty salon.
“Officers noticed the suspects entered the beauty salon and tunneled into a secondary business,” said Garden Grove police Sgt. Troy Haller. “The suspects used a blow torch and other construction equipment to enter and damage property within both businesses.”
Officers were dispatched at 1:50 a.m. to the Bebe beauty salon, 14098 Brookhurst St., in response to a robbery in progress, Haller said.
“The business owner reported a male broke into his business and was currently inside,” he said. “The business owner did not know the suspect and did not give him permission to enter the location.”
Officers detained one man walking away from the business. They later spotted a second suspect jumping out a damaged window at the scene, who was apprehended after a short foot chase, he said.
The suspects were identified as Westminster residents Travis Laguisan, 44, and Anthony Fernandez, 40.
Garden Grove police asked anyone with information regarding this crime or any additional crimes possibly involving these suspects to call them at (714) 741-5872.
