Police put out a call Monday for information regarding the whereabouts of an 87-year-old man from Texas who flew to Long Beach, rented a car and was supposed to visit family members in Apple Valley, but never arrived.
Jess Lee Beaver, who suffers from an unspecified medical condition and may become disoriented, was last seen by his family about noon Saturday in Texas, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
He traveled to California, landing at Long Beach Airport, and spent the night in a local hotel, then returned to the airport the next morning and rented a red 2019 Dodge Challenger. He had planned to head to Apple Valley, but did not arrive and has not contacted family members.
Beaver is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds and has gray hair, blue eyes and a moustache. He was wearing a khaki-colored jacket, khaki pants, eyeglasses and a baseball cap. He also has full dentures and uses hearing aids in both ears.
The rental car’s license plate is 8FNE576.
Anyone with information regarding Beaver’s whereabouts was urged to call Long Beach police at (562) 570-7246 or police dispatch at (562) 435-6711.
