A suspect wanted for stabbing a man on a platform at the Jefferson/USC Metro Expo Line station was at-large Saturday morning.
Police responded to the station near the intersection of Flower Street and Jefferson Boulevard at 9 p.m. Friday and located the victim, who had stumbled onto a train after the attack, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The train did not leave the station and the victim was taken to a hospital and directly into surgery, Madison said. The victim’s condition was unknown.
The suspect was described as a black man, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 7 inches tall, 190 to 200 pounds, with dreadlocks, wearing all-black clothing and carrying a backpack, Madison said.
A weapon was not recovered. A motive for the stabbing was not disclosed.
