A man suspected of drunk driving smashed into a hair salon in Jurupa Valley, causing extensive damage to the building, sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
The crash occurred at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday.
Just prior to the crash, the suspect was traveling north on Mission Boulevard when he began swerving across lanes into oncoming traffic and lost control of his vehicle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
That’s when his pickup truck rammed into the front of Magic Cuts, 9855 Mission Blvd., which was closed at the time, sheriff’s officials said.
The driver of the vehicle, Cosme Ibarra-Salazar, 26, of Jurupa Valley, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“A misdemeanor DUI charge is pending once medical treatment is complete,” Corporal James Herington said.
