Authorities Friday identified a pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run in Pacoima by a motorist who was arrested on suspicion of murder and held on $2 million bail.

The collision occurred about 8:15 p.m. Thursday near Glenoaks Boulevard and Desmond Street, said Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Luis Sosa, 44, of Pacoima died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the LAPD.

The suspect’s burgundy or red SUV drove away eastbound on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway from Glenoaks Boulevard, and he was later arrested, Lee said.

Roman Lopez, 47, of North Hills was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held on $2 million bail, Lee said.
