A man’s body was found Thursday with a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound near a riverbed off the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Los Alamitos.
Police received a call about the body near Coyote Creek, off the San Gabriel River Freeway and Katella Avenue, at 3:22 p.m., according to Capt. Maria O’Connell of the Los Alamitos Police Department.
The man appeared to have a gunshot wound to the head, which police believe may have been self-inflicted, O’Connell said. The man’s name will be released once the family is notified.
The investigation is ongoing and further information was not released.
