An arrest near a video shoot Sunday in a Crenshaw area parking lot sparked a short confrontation between people at the recording and police, a sergeant said.
The Sunday afternoon shoot was in a parking lot at Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, near where Nipsy Hustle was killed.
“The arrest had nothing to do with the video shoot,” Los Angeles police Sgt. Amgad Youssef said. “I responded to the scene but the suspect was already taken away for booking by then. I don’t know what he was arrested for.”
Youssef said the presence of police seemed to rile up the crowd.
“Officers had to clear the lot to stop the unrest. But again, it had nothing to do with the video shoot,” Youssef said. “It took about 20 minutes to clear the lot, then officers left the scene. No other arrests took place.”
