San Diego police asked for public assistance to find a missing 18-year-old man with autism and down syndrome who went missing Sunday in San Diego.

Andrew Surposa was last seen about 3 a.m. at his home at 5663 Market Street, SDPD said.

Surposa has trouble communicating effectively and has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, police reported.

He was also documented as a runaway in 2019, when he was found at his former address of 3852 Boston Ave. in San Diego, police said.

Surposa is Latino. He stands 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has short brown hair, brown eyes and is light-skinned, police said.

He was last seen wearing a maroon sweatshirt with yellow neon shorts and white tennis shoes, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the SDPD at 619-531-2000 or 911.
