Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was killed in an apparent gang-related shooting in an alley near his home in Norwalk, and continued their efforts to solve the crime.
Javier Lopez Jr., 33, was shot about 4:15 a.m. Monday in the 15400 block of Lefloss Avenue and died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Investigators have learned the victim heard a noise outside his residence, went outside to the alley to investigate and was shot,” according to a sheriff’s statement. “The suspect(s) fled on foot in an unknown direction. At this time, it appears the shooting is gang-related.”
