Police had to intervene in a dispute outside a grocery store in South Los Angeles Tuesday morning, when employees were suspected of trying to get first dibs on freshly stocked water bottles and toilet paper.
Cell phone footage shows a man apparently loading multiple packs of toilet paper and water bottles into a van outside Superior Grocers at 8811 South Western Ave., long before doors were opened to the public.
The quantities captured in the video are beyond the limit of two, which was posted on the door.
The Los Angeles Police Department was called to deal with rising tensions outside the Gramercy Park store at 7:10 a.m., as a large group was upset with the store manager, according to officer Rosario Cervantes with the LAPD.
A videographer at the scene described further commotion amid the crowd around 8:30 a.m.
Investigators determined no crime had been committed, police said.
