Two men were arrested in connection with a man in Claremont Saturday who suffered some stab wounds to his neck, a police sergeant said.

Officers dispatched a little after 12:15 p.m. to the area of Indian Hill Drive and Mt. Carmel Drive regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon located the victim “bleeding profusely from the neck, as the result of stab wounds,” Claremont Police Sgt. Robert Ewing said.

The victim, while being treated by paramedics, told officers that he had just met the suspects and were hanging out inside their vehicle, Ewing said. A fight began and the man was assaulted, Ewing said.

“The victim stated that the suspects were still in the immediate area. During a search of the area, the two suspects were located inside of a vehicle and detained without inside,” he said. “Evidence was located on their persons and inside of the vehicle, which corroborated the victim’s statement.”

Pomona resident Francisco Ibarra, 20, and Oceanside resident Ezekiel Hensley, 20, were arrested and booked into the Claremont Police Department. Both were held in lieu of $30,000 bail, Ewing said.
