A person inside a car involved in an Armenian-American activist caravan was killed Friday when the vehicle hit a wall on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and flipped.

The white Dodge crashed about 3:20 p.m. in the carpool lane of the Interstate 10 near Crenshaw Boulevard, in the Jefferson Park area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Los Angeles Fire Department took three patients to a hospital, but further information was not available, according to LAFD’s Margaret Stewart.

A witness told the California Highway Patrol that the car was part of a caravan to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

It was not immediately clear if other cars were involved in the collision.
