Authorities Sunday are searching for the suspects who shot a man during an attempted robbery in the unincorporated community of Good Hope.

Deputies responded to a shooting call about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 24000 block of state Route 74 but found out en route that the two vehicles involved had left the area, said Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Glenn Warrington.

Deputies intercepted one of the vehicles in Perris and found it contained a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen, who was subsequently taken to a hospital.

Investigators later learned that the suspects had arrived at the Good Hope location to purchase a vehicle and the attempted robbery occurred during the transaction, Warrington said.

Authorities did not report any arrests and said the suspects had been driving a newer-model white four-door BMW.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery was urged to contact sheriff’s Investigator Poznanski or Investigator Stites at 951-245-3300.
