Authorities Wednesday announced an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a 51-year-old transient in Santa Clarita, and alleged that the suspect is responsible for other attacks in the area.
Steven Trujillo, 27, was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sean Driggs was found stabbed to death at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue, near Apple Street, according to Deputy Morgan Arteaga.
A second stabbing was reported minutes earlier about two miles away, in the 25700 block of Hogan Drive, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. That victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the Signal reported.
“Investigators believe the attack on the victim was random, and the other attacks in the area that same night are connected to suspect Trujillo,” Deputy Eric Ortiz said, but he declined to elaborate.
Trujillo is being held on $3 million bail and is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court on June 29, according to Oritz.
