Culver City officials Sunday issued a citywide curfew for the second consecutive night following violence and looting amid protests over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Monday.
The curfew will go into effect at 4 p.m. Sunday until 5:30 a.m. Monday, mirroring the curfew in effect in the city of Los Angeles.
“Residents are advised to remain in their homes during these hours,” a city statement said. “The city manager has declared a local emergency due to the threat to public health and safety in Culver City due to the violent protests concerning the tragic death of George Floyd.”
The city’s Culver CityBus Service was also canceled for Sunday.

“Culver City respects everyone’s right to peacefully protest. Our police department will continue to enforce our laws, including the curfew order, to ensure everyone stays safe,” Culver City Mayor Goran Eriksson said.
