A person armed with a rifle was holed up inside a North Hollywood home Sunday evening.
It was reported about 9:35 p.m. in the 5100 block of Bakman Avenue, near Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Station.
It started with a call about an assault with a deadly weapon and shots fired, police said.
Police asked the public to stay away from the area and for people who live in the immediate area to stay indoors.
