A 63-year-old woman was killed and two other people seriously injured Friday in a collision at a Riverside intersection triggered when a motorist turned in front of an oncoming car, according to police.
The deadly wreck occurred about 2:10 p.m. at Arlington and Magnolia avenues, according to Riverside Police Department Sgt. Ryan Wilson.
Wilson said a 49-year-old man driving a 2009 Infiniti sports car was going west on Arlington Avenue when he began a left turn to go south on Magnolia Avenue.
“The vehicle collided with a 2010 Hyundai traveling eastbound on Arlington,” Wilson said. “The driver of the Hyundai, a 63-year-old Riverside resident, was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.”
Two other occupants of the Hyundai suffered major injuries and were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment, according to Wilson.
The driver of the Infiniti suffered minor injuries and apparently was not hospitalized.
None of the parties were identified.
The investigation is ongoing, Wilson said.
