A bicyclist was killed Tuesday in Huntington Beach, and the motorist allegedly involved in the death was arrested after leaving the scene, police said.
The crash was reported about 12:25 a.m. at Beach Boulevard and Sunrise Drive, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported.
“Upon the arrival of officers, it was found the vehicle had fled the scene and a male bicyclist was found in the roadway,” a police statement said.
Paramedics pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Information was not immediately available on his identity or age.
“The involved vehicle was later located and the driver contacted, and subsequently arrested for fleeing the collision,” police said. The motorist’s name was not immediately released.
