A man was fatally stabbed Monday in Altadena, and at least two suspects were being sought.
The stabbing occurred about 12:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Devirian Place, said Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The 33-year-old victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of his relatives, died at a hospital.
Deputies went to Devirian Place on a report of a shooting, but arrived to find the man “suffering from apparent puncture wounds,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
“Prior to the stabbing, the victim was involved in an altercation with at least two male Hispanics in their 20s who fled the scene in an unknown direction,” the statement said. “It is unknown at this time if this incident is gang-related.”
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
