Two people have died in an early morning crash Sunday involving multiple vehicles in Desert Hot Springs, authorities said.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision, which led to one person being extricated, happened in the 18000 block of Indian Canyon Drive at 1:11 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Two people were transported by land ambulance to a local hospital — one with critical and one with minor injuries, fire officials said.
At 5 a.m. the Riverside County coroner’s office was at the scene investigating.
The identities of the victims were not yet known.
