One person was hospitalized with stab wounds suffered at the scene of a fire Saturday that involved two houses and affected two detached sheds in El Monte.
The condition of the victim was not immediately known, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
The two houses were 1,000-square feet each, the department reported.
Firefighters dispatched at 12:02 p.m. to 4434 N. Bannister Ave. had the fire out at 12:32 p.m., the dispatcher said.
The cause of the fire and a motive for the attack were not immediately known.
