A 20-year-old Garden Grove man was charged Wednesday with hurling a kitten against a wall, killing it.
Erick David Perez was charged with a felony count of cruelty to animals, according to court records. Perez pleaded not guilty in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and ordered to return to court Oct. 21 in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
Perez became upset about something just before 9 p.m. Monday and picked up the orange and white kitten and slammed it against a wall in his residence in the 12700 block of Sunswept Avenue, said Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney. Perez allegedly said he did not like the kitten, Whitney said.
