A man was fatally stabbed inside a Palmdale residence Sunday where deputies detained another man they described as a person of interest, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

The stabbing inside a home in the 37000 block of Tovey Avenue was reported at 12:25 p.m., Deputy Joana Warren said.

The deputies had responded to the location because of a stabbing call, Warren said. Inside, they found a man suffering from stab wounds, who died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The person of interest was transported to the Palmdale station for an interview with homicide investigators, Warren said. That man’s name has not been released and it was not immediately known if he was arrested.

Anyone with information on this stabbing death was asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at 323-890-5500. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
