One person was hurt when a vehicle went off the side of a road in Lake Elsinore Sunday evening and caught fire.

The crash took place about 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Summerhill Drive and Via Ravenna, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The department dispatched four engines, one truck and one medical squad to the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the car fire and rescued one person, the department reported. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
