A woman was killed when she ran into the southbound lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway in Inglewood and was struck by three vehicles, authorities said Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday near the Manchester Avenue exit, according to California Highway Patrol Officer L. Jimenez.

A preliminary investigation determined that a woman, for reasons still unknown, crossed into lanes of the freeway and was struck by a Toyota Prius, followed by a Honda Civic and a Ford Escape, Jimenez said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Jimenez said.

Each of the drivers remained at the location of the crash.

A SigAlert was issued for the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 lanes of the Harbor Freeway, south of Manchester Avenue, and the Manchester Avenue on-ramp was blocked. All lanes and the on-ramp reopened about 1 a.m.

Alcohol or drugs were not immediately suspected to be factors in the incident.

The name and age of the woman killed were not disclosed.
