An “unknown intruder entered the residence and sexually assaulted an adult female while she was asleep,” Brimway said. “This appears to be an isolated incident at this time.”
He said “multiple officers responded to the scene, immediately contacted the occupants of the residence” and conducted an unsuccessful suspect search.
Police did not release a suspect description.
“Due to the sensitivity of the case and ongoing investigation, no further details will be provided at this time,” Brimway said.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Burbank Police Department at 818-238-3210.
