A 28-year-old convicted felon remained jailed Saturday after he was arrested in Riverside for allegedly possessing a loaded weapon and running from police officers.

At about 1 a.m. Friday, officers pulled over a car at Main and Russell streets and as the vehicle came to a stop a man exited through the front passenger door, according to the Riverside Police Department.

As the man ran away from officers, he allegedly tossed a loaded firearm.

The man, identified as Felipe Luquin, a Riverside transient, was eventually arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of multiple weapons violations and resisting arrest.

He remained jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
